Well, if I don't have the option of a 12-gauge
pump, I'll go with what I prefer...option number two...a 12-gauge
side-by-side.
While it doesn't have the extra shots readily available, it's a lot easier to put into action when just getting awakened out of a good night's sleep. And while accuracy is still important, I don't have to worry about
pinpoint accuracy as I would with a handgun. If an intruder breaks into my home at 3:00 a.m., and is hit with a good solid load of nine lead pellets to the chest, each measuring .33 inches in diameter, there's a pretty good chance he's going to stop right there.
Granted, I live in the country. It's just me and Ms. Judy in the house; all the kids are out of the nest, so no worries about double-aught buckshot over-penetrating into someone else's bedroom.
So, I guess my question is, when you've obviously got something that works, why on earth would you look for something else?
