Tom,

That's a very nice 1917. Do you have a ship date?

The medallions look silver and flat, not recessed.
If the gold is worn off, (but I've never seen it worn off that completely w/o some vestiges of gold in the corners and grooves), they could be the flat gold plated flush mounted from 3/18/29 to April 1929.

But most likely the standard chrome plated flush mounted when changed again by order April 1929 and used thru WWII.


I'm having trouble getting #184505 from the grip; I see 103XXX or 183XXX. Can you post another photo, a close up with the grip on its side?

The satin finish appears to be a re-finish. It's much too nice for the condition of the hammer, trigger, and stocks.
