You ought to try a course with the five shot snubbie!
I coached a teen steel team. Five plates at a station, shoot them all, time ends when you shoot the "Stop Plate." Of course we used 9mm doublestack M&P's and Glocks and what have you. I sometimes let them shoot the course with a five shot snubbie. I always reminded them, "Be sure you save one for the stop plate." Then you could see the light go on - "Five shots. Five Plates. Save one for the stop plate." It made them aim a bit better and count a lot more accurately.
