A contrary voice...if one is actually desired.
For years, make that decades, I was avid in expanding my collection, and created a very nice one.
Believe it or not, age can change interests and priorities.Changes in health can do the same.
Not just with guns, but with other interests as well."Stuff" can become less important for some, while others crave more.It can get to be like the Winchester mansion in Ca..As long as it's under construction, they can't die.
I've sold most of mine, 80% or more..My only regret is that a few went too cheaply.I can still have 80% of the fun, with just the few faves that I kept. I have no kids(not that I would force any interest on them) or close friends with the interest.
Not interested in aggravating my tinnitus. Not interested in being shot by an idiot at the range, as I feared on my last visit( and a range is my only shooting option)
Unlike my other examples of craftsmanship or art, guns can't be left out, displayed, and enjoyed in that way. They have to be kept in a safe.
