The titles of these old guns are just too darn long!! I guess I was trying to shorten it a bit when starting this thread. I think the gun is technically a " Smith & Wesson Target model .38 Military & Police Model of 1905, 4th change". Now that is an entire sentence to just place a name on the gun. Things were a lot slower back then and I believe they just referred to it as a .38 military and police or .32 military and police so they would know what your talking about. Even Colt had some rather long names back in the early 1900's also. We shorten "Officers Model Match" down to OMM now.
