I have a Shield V1 (with safety) and a G43. I like them both. What Ziggy2525 said is very accurate. I do like the safety on the Shield for holstering purposes. I prefer the Shield V1 over the V2. If you can still get the Shield at or near the cost they have gone for in the fairly recent past I would consider the Shield a no-brainer choice. In my experience the sights on the Shield are near impossible to adjust, unnecessarily so.
