Serial numbers and WaA stamps are only on the barrel, slide and frame. I have a small parts set of a WWII gun left and just checked them, they are unmarked.
**** Just wanted to add, that the war time magazines have an aluminium follower and are WaA marked. The bottom of the mag has a tab, if memory serves me well.
