I understand the need for a long gun in a vehicle if you are a property owner and use it really for critter control.

If you need to shoot someone that is 100 yards away, are they a threat to you? Consider the legal aspect of that shoot.

For me, my handgun will do that I carry daily. I do understand the need for many to be able to secure a gun in their vehicle when needed and they can't carry, but for me it's not something that needs to reside in any of my vehicles when I'm not present.
