Years ago in the UK I had a buddy who had cause to be on the ranges on Salisbury Plain. For some reason, he and a co-worker decided to hike back across a big open area rather than wait for transport. About 2/3 the way across my buddy caught something solid in a tussock of grass. He nervously pointed this out to his coworker who gave a classic reply:
"Don't worry, Bill, I did the same about ten minutes ago. Just keep walking".
