I'd think paying 500 in southern california would be the equivalent of paying 400 back here in Illinois, and I wouldn't hesitate to drop 400 for a really good 39-2 such as that appears to be. I payed 400 for a 39 with waaay more finish wear to the frame just because it was an Illinois State Police marked gun. The 39/39-2's are just such nice , classy, historic guns they deserve a bit more consideration when weighing the price, vs all the tactical tupperware out on the market these days. A local shop has a gorgeous nickel 39-2 in the box with two mags and paperwork for 677.95 that I would have already jumped on, but for the fact that I'm played out from having just bought a nice Highway Patrolman a couple weeks ago. In short, buy it. You won't regret it.
