As a rookie cop in 1968 we all wanted to put every whiz-bang gadget on our guns we could afford. Fortunately for our bank accounts the department was very strict and conducted weapons inspections @ roll frequently. This applied to off-duty weapons which we had to register w/the agency, get the range officer to approve, AND we had to qualify with. To this day my revolvers only have either a grip adapter, target grips or maybe a dallop of paint on the front sight.
