ruggyh, I don’ find the recoil from the 460 to be unpleasant....especially compared to my 629. In fact, when I first got it, my wife thought that it was “pretty mild” recoil, when using the factory Hornady 200’s (accumulating brass).

I prefer heavy bullets ( even use a “standard” bullet weight in my rifles using Barnes mono bullets) and technically speaking....a 400 grain, 45 caliber bullet, is “not” heavy for caliber. As my shots on game will be under 150 yards, trajectory (hold over), is a non-issue. I use the same bullet for “all” of my big game hunting, so learning/remembering bullet drop at various ranges is much simplified! I want a pass-thru on any game I hunt....from any angle! memtb
