I was waxing a little nostalgic today so I pulled out my records and was reminded that in March 2007 I purchased my very first 5-screw S&W - what a journey it has been since then.
This Highway Patrolman was on GunBroker with a no reserve starting price and some terrible photos. In addition, it was filthy and had a set of mismatched grips, one panel was a diamond PC magna (probably from a model 58) and the other a regular non diamond magna. So I put in a max bid for $300, and won it at $270 plus $20 shipping.
After cleaning it up, I purchased a set of Patrick Grasshorn's finest and sometime later, I found a period correct box. So here she is:
I would love to see some photos of your First 5-screw S&W and a little bit of its story would also be fun.
