My first five screw is this S&W .44 Magnum (Pre Model 29). It was shipped in June of 1956. It has some warts and the "Coke" grips were replaced with diamond targets and the target trigger and target hammer were replaced with standard width trigger and hammer at some time in its past. It obviously wore some type of rubber grips at one time as it has bluing loss that would correspond with that type of grips.
This was the gun that started my S&W sickness. It is a great shooter that locks up like a bank vault. While its not pristine, its not bad for "an early 1970's gun (per the gun store employee) that was bought for $400 OTD.
