My one and only Colt M1917 was an oddball. When I bought it about 35 years ago, it was in high condition but completely in the white (not rusted), no evidence anywhere that it had ever been blued. I never could come up with a good reason to explain why. About 10 years ago I hot blued it myself, it looks much better.
