When I started in 1977, we carried revolvers and the hot ticket at the time was the S&W 19/66. We were allowed to carry magnum ammunition, so most preferred the 19/66 to the .38's. I remember thinking how great the 2" M10s looked and tried to find one as an off-duty piece. Never had any luck, though several of my partners had them. I couldn't find (or afford) a 19/66 4" or 6" for duty use at the time, and had to settle for my Model 28. It was heavy, but accurate and tough as nails. I did find a 2 1/2" Model 19 for plain clothes assignments and off-duty, but never did find a 2" Model 10. I still think they say "cop" better than about any other snubby.
