The hammer rides between two "bosses" located on the sideplate and at the base of the hammer stud. There is often some minor and incidental misalignment of the hammer on the stud between the plate and the frame boss.

If this misalignment interferes with the travel of the hammer to it's destination, then you should seek assistance from the techs at the factory. Shims are also available, if deemed necessary.
