Early Model 66
LGS find. Looks to be shot little. Apparently it was brought in by a middle aged couple to whom it was left from a parent’s estate. Serial number starts 4K50 so I think that places it in 1973. It came with a very clean Safariland holster from the same period, or there abouts. The action is perfect and still has its trigger stop. The stainless rear sight is neat.
I think read a couple time on the forums in years past that the original 66’s had stainless hammers and triggers whose searing surfaces couldnt retain an edge. Am I recalling correctly?
