A bit of trivia I am certain of, though, is having target options on a gun ordered by a department is frequently nothing more than the armorer's, firearms instructors, or even the department chief's personal preference. In my own experience it's surprising how those things count more than practicality in so many categories of department equipment purchases.
I always took for granted they were police turn ins but this many years later I can’t remember if they said it in the ad. I think so. I also kicked myself for not getting one. But when my friend bought his, I was buying my 4” Model 24-3.
