The 9mm 1911 is for:
1. Competition shooters who want to "game" the system.
2. People with hand issues that have problems with heavier recoil.
3. 9mm fan boys who are absolutely convinced its the best self defense round ever.
4. People who don't reload because 9mm ammo is cheap.
5. Wimps.

But it ain't for me. I dearly love the 1911 and have a bunch of them. Everything from compacts to long slides and even a few of its .380 little brothers. Calibers are .22LR, .38 Super and .45acp.
But there ain't a 9mm in the bunch. To me, putting that cartridge in a 1911 just amounts to blasphemy.
When I want a SA 9mm, I go for one of my Hi-Powers. Now that is what a 9mm 1911 really should be.

Of course I can't rule it out completely. Old Arthur has gotten into my hands and some day I may end up stooping low enough to buy a 9mm 1911. But until then, I won't have one of the damned things.
