I'm sure you have noticed that the hammer has been bobbed to facilitate drawing the revolver without snagging on the hammer spur.
I don't presume to know your wife's capabilities with firearms, but snub nosed revolvers are difficult to shoot accurately especially in double action mode. The very short sight radius magnifies any slight error in sight alignment. Recoil can also be an issue in light weight firearms. I hope your purchase works out for her.
