Jelly Bryce was a LEO out west in the early part of 20th century and a very accomplished gunfighter who shot instinctively. He shot from a crouch and didn't bring his pistol up to chest level. Draw and fire.. But he was the exception, very talented, apparently could also shoot just about any way he wanted. But the gunfights he was noted for were close and very quick, according to what I have read/seen on biographies of him.
