I think the stoppages is because the grip is so big, it forces users to rotate their hand, thus creating more movement of the frame moving as well as the slide, thus causing stove pipeing and double feeds etc.

I had no issues with sight drifting but did have to send my FN back because with a full magazine, you could not release the slide by slingshotting it. You could only release slide using slide lock.

Now that I got my Ruger 57 I am seriously considering getting rid of my FN57. I do not like FN too much
