This shot shows the etching. To get this pattern I etch in ferric chloride three or four times. It is purely cosmetic. I like the look, others may not.

A close up showing the course texture of the burlap. Again this is multiple layers of burlap laminated in epoxy. The handle is epoxied to the blade, the pins are G10.

I like it. The etching looks great. The handle looks like a corncob. Very nice knife.
