I have a Model 10-5, skinny barrel round butt, and a Model 12 in the same configuration. One to shoot, one to carry. We had some in inventory at the US Marshal's Office in the 1970s. The US Marshals had a pretty open firearms policy then. I carried one of the service owned Model 10, round butts for a while, had some nice Herretts grips made for it. Saved my pennies and bought a Model 38 for BUG. Then saved again and got a Model 66, 2.5 inch. The 66 and 19 were the most common carry gun at our office with SuperVel 38 rounds so the short ejection rod would clear them out for sure.

Late in the 1970s, the Model 39s and 59s started showing up as personally owned service or BUG guns.
