I had a Mannlicher- Schoenauer carbine that came with a box of Western brand 8X56mm ammo from the 1930's.
The ammo fired okay, but I shot just a few rounds. I was able then to get DWM fresh ammo but don't think it's still imported.
The little rifle was pretty accurate off the bench at 100 yards, The double-set trigger made firing easy while holding steady.
But I guess you guys won't be firing any of that old .38 ammo...
It'd be interesting to see what velocity a chronograph would show.
