It's a good idea to sort your brass by headstamp. Mixed brass in the 38 Special, especially with deep seated wadcutters, is a recipe for poor accuracy.
Seat bullets flush.
The amount of crimp will have some bearing on feeding reliability.
The M52 has a good reputation for functioning well with loads on the lighter end of the scale.
