Not exactly correct...

More than half the 17-6’s have the combat stocks and full lug barrel, but the first “likely more than one third” of the 17-6 looked exactly like the 17-5 and 14-most, with the standard ribbed target barrel and goncalo alves target stocks.

My 17-6 is of 1988 vintage, a BBJ-prefix, and it is the earlier, more traditional style.
