Darn it, now I'm getting hungry! Ballistol is also not a bad choice. Its main ingredient is mineral oil. Not only for leather, but wood grip handles, cleaning powder, lead, & copper residue and doesn't gum up in cold weather or over time. That mixture with the wax on leather sounds like a good home-grown recipe. BTW, mineral oil is what we use in refrigeration systems (of course specially formulated for the type of refrigerant) because of its miscibility with the low temp of the refrigerant. I used to use refrigerant oil to break in softball & baseball gloves and tool pouches. Thanks for the tip on that recipe! Jeff
