For standard pressure ammo, change the recoil spring around every 3500-4000 rounds. If using +P ammo, every 3000-3500 rounds. Since you are buying a used pistol, replace the recoil spring before the first firing.


There are only two manufacturers of S&W mags that I would trust. Mec-Gar and S&W. Leave the others alone. Other brands are cheaper, but you will get what you pay for.
