In my youth I met plenty of "senior citizens" who were lazy, selfish, inconsiderate, immature, they voted in the politicians who established the welfare state with its sense of entitlement. Now we are reaping what they sowed. And I have met plenty of the young who see their elders as a bad example not to be followed.
On another board I noted I have met many younger people who have a strong work ethos because they got fed with the hand to mouth paycheck to paycheck-disability/welfare check lifestyle-forced on them by their parents irresponsibility. So the problem is not one of generations but of attitudes and values.
