On another board I noted I have met many younger people who have a strong work ethos because they got fed with the hand to mouth paycheck to paycheck-disability/welfare check lifestyle-forced on them by their parents irresponsibility. So the problem is not one of generations but of attitudes and values.

I would think that you are not in the upper age group of a lot of the members here because most of us had to work our butt off to help support our family and would've been embarrassed to accept handouts. There just isn't the same pride in oneself as there was in my time.
