My understanding is the 59, 92 and (many, apparently) others are based
off the Browning HP magazine.

I've got a couple of mags I went gonzo on. Added two additional catch
slots, and they fit/run in a Beretta 92, Kel-Tec P-11, S&W 6906, and an
S&W SD9VE.
