Range Rag:

I always carry a 100% Cotton Flannel Range Rag that has gun oil (in my case Rig #2 Oil) all over it. I keep it in a sealed heavy duty zip lock bag and after shooting and before putting a gun back in its gun case I wipe it down. That gets 90% of the dirt, dust, powder residue etc. off before it gets put away and makes cleaning it at home much easier.

I use a white colored Flannel so I can see just how dirty it is getting. After 4-6 months I toss it and saturate a new piece. If you buy a few yards at a fabric store, these Range Rags are dirt cheap and are great! I find that a 24" x 24" piece is just about right.
