I prefer getting nostalgic vibes when viewing classic revolvers. Original grips/stocks rule. However, the smaller variety just don't seem to cut it when my hands require a more substantial grip area.
The T-grips fit in with older classics and give no additional rearward bulk while giving you more to hang onto. They are easily removed to maintain the original appearance. A case in point is this Colt Detective Special from 1959. Perfect solution!
