Yes, a good gunsmith can fit that barrel to your frame. The pin is really just window dressing, even though it does look good there.

It may not have not been necessary, but the pin was used to help hold the barrel in place, based on the design and engineering principals of the day. I've never had a barrel loosen on any non-pinned gun (including all of my Colts), but the pin is a reminder of the old school attention to detail and craftmanship of the past.
