Issued a carbine (yes I put a switch in it) as I drove a deuce and a half shop van when I was the division armorer for the 1st Cav Div in Korea in 1959 but I kept a grease gun with several mags loaded in the cab, except when we were doing IG inspections, too much brass around. I could build anything I wanted as I had replacement receivers in inventory for everything from 1911's up to 50 cal Brownings. I usually worked late into the night before driving back to our compound (27th Ordnance Bn.) and you never knew. Later on issued an M1 in Germany.
