I own M&P22 Compact. Pure USA, no Walther parts anymore. Never have had a single malfunction. Great shooter. Accurate, fast, reliable.
The only concern... S&W did not keep size of original M&P Compact pistol.
22 is about 15% shrunk version, close to Shield size.

Glock 44 keeps the size of the Family which is great for uniformity... I don't like Glocks, so my words about model 44 won't count.
