Get new stocks that are thinner
or widely scalloped out where
you wish to push the speed
loader.

Back in the day, we used to just
whittle away on those enormous
stocks as being too fat, too
misshaped for double action use.
Don't whittle the stocks you have
since now they are becoming
collector pieces.

The design really was for slow, single
action shooting at a more leisurely
pace or for the biggest pawed shooters.

Just as an example, look at the Model
19 Classic under current production.
Note the stocks now being used.

Then just for variety of ideas, look at
Altamont Grips under S&W, in your
case square butt (the new 19s have
round butts with square butt
adapters).
