No, no, no, no. That's not it at all. The 1076 is designed to shoot low for use in narco sub interdiction. You aim for what you see above the water line and the bullet makes holes in what you can't see below the water line. Make enough holes and the sub sinks. Narco sub problem solved.
I don't have any of S&W's 10 mm pistols, but I do have a 6946 that shot way low, too low for my tastes. The front sight was tall enough that I could and did file it down so that rounds appear to fall on the top of the front sight at 25 yards. I also ground the face of the sight flat and drilled a new hole and filled it with white, enamel paint to regain a front dot.
