I bought a 34-1 4" SB nickel about two years ago for $500. Mine is newer than the one you are looking at and thus not pinned, which might account for the price difference. I also have a 27-2 4 inch, and if I had to pick between a kit gun and an N-frame .357, I'd grab the kit gun without a moment's thought. The 27-2 is so big that it never goes anywhere but the range. The kit gun is light, handy, cheap to shoot (or at least it used to be) and actually pretty useful.
