Pre Model 25 - 1955
Due to age and health reasons, I've decided to sell my 5-screw Model 1955 .45 ACP Target Revolver. I've had it for over 50 years and I don't have a clue as to what to ask for it. I looked at Gun Broker and prices range from $800 to $2200 so I'm totally in a quandary. Here is write-up I did for it. I'd appreciate any assistance to evaluate this beautiful revolver and it will like parting with an old friend.
S&W Model 1955, Caliber .45 ACP. Serial No. S161831. This is a target model with 6-1/2-inch barrel, adjustable rear sight, target grips and wide trigger. Action is extremely smooth with a very light and crisp trigger release. This is an early 5 screw model with the right side of the barrel marked, "45 CAL MODEL 1955. The numbers 75010 and 101351 appear on the on crane and on barrel, respectively. Half moon clips required to fire .45 ACP. Mirror bore with revolver having 99% original finish. This target revolver has an original S&W factory letter which states it was shipped to Klein's Sporting Goods in Chicago on 21 Oct. 1958.
