For the 9mm semi automatic pistol fans. I know there are only a few of us. Just a few facts I have dug out of my notes, so its time to share.
1. Sn. 1001 shipped Nov.15, 1954 to the factory and presented to Mr. Austin, sales manager. This is the first commercially released 9mm.
2. Sn 2623 and 2624. These two are the highest numbered 9mm that have surfaced. Both shipped on Nov. 15, 1957. 2623 went to New Jersey and 2624 went to Alaska.
3. The first marked mod-39, not a clue.
4. The last marked mod-39, not a clue.
5. The first marked mod39-2, un-clear. Translon period.
6. The last 39-2. A747148 was shipped Feb. 15, 1983 to Costa Rica.
