I got a Service Grade Colt the first round and I’m very happy with it. It is in excellent shape.
Don’t care if the history can’t be verified. It was made in 1944 and hung in a GI’s hip until it was put into storage sometime after July 1976 according to when it was worked over and probably parkerized. It might have stormed the beach at Normandy or helped liberate a concentration camp. Or it might have guarded Quonset huts filled with dirty GI underwear. I don’t care. It’s the real deal and I’d take it before ANY modern 1911, especially the budget 1911 GI clones.
My thirst has been satisfied. I shoot it once or twice a year. Nothing but my own reloads. Hasn’t malfunctioned yet. I won’t need another one. Let somebody else get it. But I’m not sorry I paid the money.
