Hi Srummy,

I). Your Alaskan Take Down rifle looks like a very nice & handy Lever Action set-up to me
How good is the trigger and how does it shoot (with factory-ammo / handloads: 5shots/100m or yards) ?

II). Not so much own experience* with .44 Remington Magnum out of rifles here...
*OK, I remember shooting a Marlin 1894 belonging to a friend (only on paper) but with
the gun- & hunting-laws here in Germany I'm a bit limited:
So for the .44's only two revolvers** (M 29-2 & M 629-3 Classic DX) and for the lever-action rifles only a .22l.r. Erma & an early (= ported = loud!) Marlin GG in .45-70Gov. in the safe.
**No real handgun-hunting allowed here, only finishing-shots after the poor deer or pig was hit by a car or train

III). VV N 110 is a great powder for magnum-loads in the .44 (and for .357 Magnum, also) !
OK, perhaps most important (for me): Never had a problem with finding VV N 110 nearby, something I can not say about some other powders (...have not seen Bullseye in years ).

Sorry, no own experience with Nosler bullets in .44 Magnum (only some very good results with Nosler Partition & BT in the 7x64 !).

But here you can find some thoughts about hunting with the .44 Remington Magnum
