I have a '49 M&P .38 snubnose K-frame that I'm getting ready to Parkerize. Should the hammer have a finish on it, or would it just be case-hardened? The bluing on this grubby old thing is mostly purple-ish brown, and I can't tell for sure if the hammer used to be blued or not.
