WW2 Winchester M1/M2 carbine, in legal semi-auto configuration, with Korean War rebuild SA52 barrel.
We have been hit with some more unexpected dog medical bills here at "Wolf Creek Dog Rescue", the rescue/shelter/sanctuary we run for medium and large dogs, and wolfdog hybrids.
So I am putting my last M1 carbine up for sale to help cover some of these expenses.
There are NO import marks on this rifle. It is NOT one of the more recent ones sold by CMP.
It's a late WW2 Winchester with a Springfield Armory 1952 dated barrel - this is an original SA52 barrel, not one of the fakes with bogus markings that were being pimped off a while back by some of the more shady M1 carbine parts dealers.
Most major parts - receiver, stock , handguard, trigger housing, operating slide - are original Winchester. Bolt is one of the Korean or Vietnam War era military issue replacements with the "W in a circle" white paint marking.
Receiver is M1 marked, not M2, so no issues there.
Overall very good condition, I think there are a couple small scattered pits in the barrel but it has bright, shiny, sharp, clean, rifling with a tight muzzle - not shot-out or worn at the muzzlelike a lot of M2 carbines.
There are scattered areas of light old pitting on the receiver under the military refinish Parkerized finish, I have tried to show these in the photos but they don't show up real well.
I will have to check to see what the internals are, I think a mixture of WW2 Winchester and Inland with some post-WW2 RIA. Trigger housing and slide are late Winchester M2.
NOTE: The hammer is a standard M1 hammer and there is no disconnector block, plunger, and spring, so this rifle is in legal semi-automatic configuration, and the "walking beam" only serves as to pin the trigger housing to the receiver.
Stock is original Winchester M2 potbelly, has harder, more water resistant, and more durable Korean War era tung oil finish like late M1 Garands - original WW2 finish would of course have been boiled linseed oil.
Comes with an aftermarket 10 round magazine. The buttstock pouch and magazine in the gun in the photos is not included.
The sling is an excellent condition post WW2-Korean War era version with the heavy brass D endcaps and rectangular brass buckle. I will have to check the markings on the oiler.
Price is $1,300 + shipping, where legal.
I'm only selling this to raise funds for the dog rescue, so no trades.
THIS WILL BE LISTED ON OTHER SITES, SO FIRST DEFINITE AND UNCONDITIONAL "I'LL TAKE IT" TO MY EMAIL AT vonweigert(at)earthlink.net gets it.
Cash, check, or money order are fine, No PayPal or other electronic payment.
C&R friendly, California "cash and carry" with proper documentation
