GD is a pretty versatile powder. During shortages people discover all kinds of good powders that aren't marketed for the cartridges they load with excellent results. Green dot also works well for a 850 fps 44 mag load.
During the last shortage (2008) I discovered American Select and use it for 9mm, 38 spl. and 45 ACP now. It's a cleaner burning Bullseye.
