Default Wrong Case for My 4-screw

I purchased my blued 6-1/2" bbl. 4-screw .44 Magnum a few years ago, s/n S177963 (ca. late 1957-early 1958). It came with the same mahogany clamshell case as yours, and with the aluminum rod, except that the case and tools are incorrect for my revolver (as stated by Doc44). The clamshell case was first introduced a few years later than when my .44 Magnum was manufactured, and I believe that mine should have had the blue/black pebble finish case with blue satin liner. I knew it was the wrong case for the revolver, and that was taken into account while dickering. However, the early clamshell cases are still worth $150+. The blue/black cases are $400+ if you can even find one. You picked up a period correct and very nice .44 Magnum, enjoy!
