I've sold a hundred or more in my life. All private sales, no paperwork. Since they changed the law requiring private sale BG checks only a couple. It's just not fun anymore. I'd list them on a local "gun for sale" forum. Make arragements, meet up, swap money for gun. Go on about my business. They went about theirs. Never a problem before, during, or after. Met some great people, some of whom I count as friends today.

Today, I'd do the same thing, except we'd meet up at some place that did private BG checks for a reasonable price. Gander Mountain has some kind of "club" that free BG checks/transfers are one of the benefits as I understand it.
